About the Airport
Vnukovo International Airport (VKO), DomesticVnukovo (VKO) Vnukovo Airport is one of the three main airports in Moscow and the Moscow Region, located within the Moscow Vnukovo district, 10 kilometers south-west of the Moscow Ring Road. Used for international passenger flights and business aviation flights. It has the status of a federal airport.
It ranks third in Russia in terms of the number of passengers served for the year, coming after other two Moscow airports: Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo. For instance, in 2015 the volume of passenger traffic of the airport was more than 15.8 million people. It is the base and hub airport for the airlines "Russia", "UTair", "Yakutia", "Gazprom Avia", low-cost "Pobeda" and charter airline "Ai Fly."
